Heidi Klum has been a fixture at fashion weeks for decades, but her latest Paris trip was about someone else. On Oct. 3, her 16-year-old daughter, Lou Sulola Samuel, attended her first Paris Fashion Week, sitting beside her mother at the Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 2027 show.
For a teenager who has kept a low profile despite having two famous parents, the outing was a real milestone. It was also a present: Lou turns 17 on Oct. 9, and Klum says the trip was an early birthday gift.
Why Heidi Klum Chose Vivienne Westwood for Lou’s Debut

The show was Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood, and the choice was personal. Klum told British Vogue that her connection to the label and its creative director made it the right place for Lou’s first Fashion Week. She called the trip a “little early birthday present” and felt the show would be the perfect introduction.
Lou did not walk the runway. She watched from the front row, which let her take in a major designer show as a guest rather than a model. Klum knows the setting well. The day before, the 53-year-old had walked the Ottolinger Spring/Summer 2027 runway.
Lou Samuel’s Vivienne Westwood Look

Lou’s outfit gave the brand’s dramatic shapes a youthful spin. She wore acid-wash pink denim: a structured, corset-style top with a flared peplum and a matching asymmetrical miniskirt. Floral platform shoes and a snakeskin-print shoulder bag finished the look, and her long brunette curls were left loose and voluminous to keep it relaxed.
Klum coordinated without copying her daughter. She wore a sculptural white blazer with strong lapels and a cinched waist, a long white column skirt and platform heels. The result was a mother-daughter fashion moment in which each woman’s style stood on its own. The pair also posed with Jaden Smith and Paris Jackson, which made the debut star-studded.
“Totally Nervous” Before the Big Day

Lou has been photographed since childhood, but she told British Vogue that a Fashion Week show felt different. She admitted to being “totally nervous.” She also said the event let her show more of her own personality instead of being pictured simply as her parents’ daughter.
That could matter if she ever pursues fashion. Her first Paris appearance put her own style at the center of the conversation.
Will Lou Samuel Follow Heidi Klum Into Modeling?

Lou has not announced any plans to model, so her Paris Fashion Week debut shouldn’t be read as a career announcement. Fashion does run in the family, though. Her sister Leni Klum, 22, is an established model, and her brother Henry Samuel made his runway debut at the Lena Erziak Spring 2025 Couture show and has appeared at other presentations since.
Lou said she doesn’t necessarily go to her siblings for fashion advice. Seeing them build their own careers gives her confidence, since they grew up in the same world.
Who Is Heidi Klum’s Daughter Lou?

Lou is the youngest of Klum’s four children. She is Klum’s daughter with singer Seal, and her brothers Henry and Johan share the same parents. Leni, Klum’s eldest, is from her earlier relationship with Flavio Briatore and was later adopted by Seal.
Lou has generally avoided big public appearances, which made her Paris Fashion Week outing stand out. With her 17th birthday days away, the trip marked a new chapter. Whether modeling is part of it is still unknown, but for one weekend in Paris, she got a close look at the world her mother has worked in for decades.
