Amal Clooney tried something different in Venice this week, stepping away from her usual minimalist wardrobe for a statement-making printed dress.
The human rights lawyer joined husband George Clooney at “The Future Of… Creativity” event on September 4, wearing a fitted Stella McCartney dress with a raspberry-inspired pattern. It was a shift from the neutral tones and classic cuts she’s leaned on for most of her Venice Film Festival appearances this year.
Amal Clooney Experiments With a Bold Summer Look

The chiffon dress had an off-the-shoulder neckline and a fitted shape. From a distance, the print looked like scattered red dots, but up close it revealed a more detailed, fruit-inspired design.
Amal paired it with oversized gold earrings, nude heels, and a textured white handbag, then added large brown sunglasses for a relaxed, European-summer feel.
She also changed up her hair for the occasion, skipping her usual loose waves for a half-up style with a side part and soft curtain bangs.
George kept things simple: a navy suit with a plain black T-shirt underneath.
Another Fashion Moment During Venice Film Festival
This is just the latest in a run of memorable looks from Amal this week.
She arrived in Venice wearing an olive-green satin set with a matching blazer and shorts. Later, during a romantic evening out with George near where they got married, she wore a sparkling white gown. At the Ink premiere, she went with a black gown and diamond jewelry, then switched again into a metallic fringe mini dress for a night out.
George Clooney Praises His Wife’s Achievements
Fashion wasn’t the only thing George talked about during the trip. He also spoke about Amal’s work as an international human rights lawyer, calling out her dedication to the field.
Between the wardrobe changes and George’s comments, the couple’s Venice run has mixed Hollywood style with a reminder of what Amal does outside of red carpets.
