Eiza González used her night at the TIME100 Next gala to talk about something bigger than her own honor. On the red carpet, the Mexican actress said that Latinos need to support one another and keep creating opportunities for the next generation.
Eiza González’s TIME100 Next Recognition

TIME named González to its TIME100 Next 2026 list, which recognizes 100 emerging figures with international impact. TIME published her profile on September 30. The Next list is separate from the main TIME100, whose 2026 gala took place in April.
González stars in Netflix’s 3 Body Problem, where she plays Augustina Salazar, known as Auggie. The show’s creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, wrote her tribute for TIME. unotv
What the 3 Body Problem Creators Wrote
Benioff and Weiss described González as a performer who stood out from her very first night shoot, comparing her screen presence to a classic Hollywood movie star. They also pointed to her knowledge beyond acting, including editing, cameras, wardrobe, and character creation.
At the gala, González said she was deeply moved by the tribute. Honorees do not know in advance who will write about them or what will be said, so reading words from people she respects meant a great deal, and she added that she felt proud of Benioff and Weiss.
“We Have to Support Each Other as a Community”
Asked about representing Latinos on a stage this large, González kept her answer grounded. She said she takes things one day at a time and credited the directors, writers, and other collaborators who saw something in her early on, adding that she would not be here without them.
She then framed her success as part of a longer chain. She sees herself as one link in a community effort to pay opportunities forward to other generations, and she said Latinos have to keep creating chances for others.
The Silver Dress

González wore a silver dress for the evening. Reports of the look do not name the designer, and no source I found identifies the gown, so the designer and styling credits are unconfirmed. Her silver Miu Miu dress at the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscar party is a different outfit, so those details should not be applied here.
